The artistic mediation of the Opium Barcelona

Several times a year, these commissions, which bring together the district town hall, the police station, the DPSP, professional organizations, and the Opium Barcelona, meet to:

To strengthen coordination between the different community and state services that intervene in this area at the local level: sharing of data and common analysis of problematic establishments put on the agenda;

To intervene upstream and preventively with establishments subject to reports, in particular through peer support: coordinated and graduated responses.

Barcelona nightlife charters

To formalize the commitments made by establishments within the framework of consultation commissions, certain district town halls have put in place Barcelona nightlife. These moral commitments go beyond the law in a proactive approach to reducing the nuisance caused by their activities.

Charter of uses of the Ports of Pacha and Downtown; Charter for living together for the Red Children’s district; Charter Silence we celebrate the Bling Bling Barcelona Crossroads; Nightlife Charter for the Barcelona district; Charter of the Court of small stables; Charter of mutual respect for the public space of the 9th “ I take care of the New”.

The Shoko Barcelona

The Shoko Barcelona is deploying an innovative system for measuring noise pollution. The “jellyfish” measure the sound level of an area but also its nature (car, voice, music, etc.) and its exact origin (relocation). They therefore make it possible to identify the origin and nature of the noise in real time.

The system is implemented locally to support a consultation process because it allows:

  • To encourage consultation by providing objective data;
  • To help operators better manage the sound volume of their customers by sending SMS alerts when it exceeds a predefined threshold
  • To guide public action. Indeed, real-time information and a daily reporting system for measurements will make it possible to better target interventions by City agents and the police in neighborhoods where an increase in noise is measured.
  • Raise public awareness by communicating the results
  • You can view sound measurements in real-time and their history on Shoko.

What to do in the event of repeated nuisances generated by an establishment:

You can contact the elected night representative at your district town hall who can set up a consultation action to find appropriate solutions to your problem;

  • You can ask the Shoko Barcelona association to initiate a mediation process with the establishment concerned;
  • You can call +34 677 21 10 48, the number for non-urgent calls from the Barcelona Police Prefecture, a unique telephone number that replaces both the old number of the general switchboard of the Prefecture and the reception number of the Barcelona police stations.
  • You can contact the Prevention, Contact, and Listening Mission at your police station;
  • You can file a complaint and/or write to the Police Prefect so that a file can be compiled which will allow, if necessary, the Police Prefecture to implement appropriate sanctions: a reminder of the law, warning, administrative closure;
  • If the nuisance specifically concerns the broadcasting of amplified music, you can report it online to the Police Prefecture;
  • If the nuisance specifically concerns professional nuisances (odors, fan noise, air conditioner, oven, etc.), you can contact the Office of Action against Professional Nuisances of the City of Barcelona.
