Engineering a Bright Future: Why Youngsters Must Choose This Carrier Option in 2023

There is a craze amongst the youngsters for  B.Tech courses. The opening of the economy has allowed foreign investment and so many MNCs have been in India after economic reforms. This has created lot many jobs for youngsters. The youngsters are getting far better job opportunities in the private sector than in the government sector. This has deepened the proclivity toward these jobs. These jobs are secured as there are defined procedures for terminating an employee. The employee laws are pro-employee is one of the reasons why employees are inclined towards engineering. There is a scarcity of faculty that talks about industry application of concepts in class or students. This generally creates a gap between what skills are required by the organization and what skills an individual possesses and not many are able to fill this gap. You must look into the college placement statistics of the college/ university. Students of Era University Lucknow got direct campus placements in top companies like Infosys, Wipro, HDFC Bank, HCL Technologies, Intel Technology India Pvt Ltd and more.

The engineer’s role is to invent, design, analyze, build and test machines, complex systems, structures, gadgets and materials.  The engineer must have strong problem-solving skills. Whenever an engineer is faced with any new situation or problem he must have the ability to use theoretical concepts in practical problems. The government must regulate the faculty recruitment of these institutions because substandard teachers will not be able to deliver quality education to the students and generally private engineering colleges hire these faculty because of the low cost bearings.

The employability of engineers is a big problem. A report by the employability assessment company Aspiring Minds suggests that over 80 per cent of engineers are unemployable. Lakhs of students write entrances to compete for thousands of engineering college seats in India. IITs, NITS, and  IIITs are the premier colleges in India and there are about 175 other top private colleges. There are 10LKH plus aspirants that compete for in and around 8 thousand seats. Do other engineers get good jobs after their graduation? if they then how many of them will get a good package? You can study and secure big tech jobs up to 25lkh per annum even after graduating from any of the engineering colleges. I have seen students getting high-paying jobs even if they don’t have degrees because most companies look for skills. We have vast jobs that cannot be given to an aspirant who possesses superfluous knowledge. Because these are responsibilities that require far more capable individuals to handle.

AI Boom: The recent development in generative AI has pushed investors to put lots of money into this sector. AI will create lot many jobs in the next decade. This industry has been booming and recent developments in AI will even create more job demand.

Decreasing Govt Jobs: The government has been privatising its assets so government post has been decreasing in number. Apart from govt jobs, you will not get good private jobs if you are not an engineer or an MBA graduate. Even if someone is aspiring for government jobs then an engineering degree will open more avenues.

Stable Carrier Option: Job security after acquiring skills in engineering is more than in any other sector. Most companies do not lay off employees who work in their core operation as they do layoffs in other departments. So job security is far better than any other sector.

Financial stability: You will have a lavish life if you work harder as an engineer in the initial years. Because You will earn as much as most people don’t earn even after years of their working experience. I know an individual who was from an average college earns 7lakh per month after 6 years of experience and another individual his classmate who was an army officer earns 1lakh per annum so his earning is 7 times and both of them were equally intelligent.

Opportunities: If you choose to do engineering from any of the fields then you will be eligible for generalized posts as well as specialized posts. It’s not as expensive as other courses such as MBBS. Engineers are generally used to a dynamic working culture.
