INSEMINATION (IUI) INTRA UTERINE INSEMINATION
Insemination is the process of taking the sperm sample taken from the man through special processes, separating the fastest/highest quality ones and introducing this sample into the uterus. It is a painless procedure and a special thin catheter is used to introduce the sperm sample into the uterus. A rest period of approximately 30-45 minutes is sufficient after the vaccination process. Afterwards, you can return to your normal daily life.
Vaccination is preferred in patients who cannot become pregnant despite regular sexual intercourse. The procedure is timed to coincide with the ovulation period, allowing the sperm released into the uterus to meet the egg.
For egg development, especially in patients with regular menstrual periods, the body’s own egg production can be monitored or oral pills or injections around the navel can be used to help develop eggs, which will start during your menstrual period.
Sequential ultrasound and blood test follow-up may be preferred to ensure that ovulation has occurred. However, in daily practice, the rec-hCG hormone, often referred to as a cracking shot, is administered to ensure ovulation. Vaccination is planned approximately 36 hours after the rec-hCG hormone is administered.
Before the procedure, your partner is asked to abstain for approximately 3 days (i.e., no intercourse and no ejaculation). Since some procedures need to be carried out in the laboratory to prepare the sperm before the procedure, it will also be stated how long before the procedure you will be present at the clinic.
During the IUI Treatment Lahore process, sperm and egg come together in the woman’s tubes and fertilization occurs here. Therefore, for pregnancy to occur, a healthy egg, healthy sperm, a strong tube and a healthy inner uterine membrane are needed for the embryo to attach to the uterus. In other words, sperm values ββare normal or close to normal; Vaccination can be performed on couples whose ovaries produce eggs and who do not have any significant problems with the uterus tubes.
Vaccination may be possible in any of the following situations:
- In case of unexplained infertility (that is, if no problems are detected in the tests that prevent pregnancy)
- In the presence of problems that prevent sexual intercourse, such as vaginismus (if the vaginismus problem has not been resolved despite the treatment received in these patients and the couple wishes to become pregnant, the procedure can be performed under anesthesia.)
- In patients who have previously had an operation related to the cervix that may prevent sperm from reaching the uterus in a healthy way (for example, conization, etc., in cases that may damage the structure of the cervix).
- Cervical mucus disorders
- In cases where erection problems are experienced (Erectile Dysfunction) (Increased stress during sexual intercourse may further aggravate the existing problem. Therefore, the time for sperm donation will be planned according to your needs)
- Patients with slightly low sperm values ββ(in terms of number, speed and structural features)
- In cases where donor sperm will be used in the presence of Azoospermia Treatment Lahore (the absence of any sperm).
- Vaccination is not preferred in women of advanced age (>35 years) and women with poorly functioning ovaries. It is more appropriate for these patient groups to apply for in vitro fertilization treatments without wasting too much time.
- The pregnancy success rate of the vaccination process is not very high and is around 10-17% (average 15%). However, it can be preferred in couples who are young, have a short period of infertility, and have normal egg reserves and sufficient sperm values.
